' Returning Hope '
by Alyson Rewick

A wordless hope stirs
As I dream of halcyon days
And powder-blue skies.
The air is thick and sweet,
Redolent of lilacs,
And the lawn is shaded
By all the greenery of June.
The ides of March is over
And Caesar slain,
But there is hope in the temperate winds of May.
April is the passageway,
The transitioning, the golden month.
It forms a daisy bridge between frigid winter
And burgeoning Spring, giving life
And hope to stagnant hearts
